We said that customers had no recourse when their Amazon account information was wrongly attributed to a person with a racist or xenophobic viewpoint.
Amazon customers have since received several tweets, emails and Facebook messages from Amazon customer services, and many of the complaints are still ongoing.
Some customers have also taken to the social media site Twitter, calling on the company to change its language around the term and apologise.
As of writing this article, Amazon has not replied to the comments.
